Here is a TIE-Fighter model from Star Wars. The ship was modelled in Maya using references from Andor and the Mandolorian series. In order to get a better understanding of the TIE Fighters origins, appearance and overall look, extensive research was drawn from the Star Wars sequel trilogy: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi. The three original movies had heavily showcased the TIE Fighter ship and slightly transitioned the ships colours throughout these movies, from a light grey colour towards a finalised blueish hue. The final rendition of my take on the TIE fighter was a greyish hue, with a touch of blue tint to match the Empire Strikes Back movie appearance.
With a large amount of individual parts that needed to be created, I modelled half of the fighter and used the mirror tool In Maya to replicate the other side. This was a massive time saver and allowed more time for ensure the quality of the ship. Some parts that were unique from the other side of the fighter were modelled seperately and were used as final additions.
Textured in Substance Painter, Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag/Unreal Engine, edited in Adobe Premier pro and final edits were done using Adobe Lightroom.
Overall I am very satisfied with the final outcome and throughly enjoyed the challenge of modelling a ship that I admire in Star Wars. Thanks for viewing.
